Key Account Manager, Ossett

Job Description

Due to the opening of our new branch in Rotherham we are looking to strengthen our Key Account Team to develop new business in the South Yorkshire area.  We are recruiting the following personnel, who will work with our existing team which is based in Ossett, particularly targeting housebuilders and civils contractors:

THE ROLE: As a Key Account Manager you will work as part of an already successful team promoting James Burrell to a wide customer base of housebuilders, national and regional contractors, civil engineering contractors, and ground workers as well as general builders.  You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts, providing quotes on projects, negotiating prices and terms, and helping Rotherham to achieve sales targets.

CANDIDATE: We are seeking a sales professional who is results driven and who has experience in managing large contractors including civil engineering and ground workers.  The candidate must be professional, self-motivated, customer orientated, have the ability to make commercial decisions and a desire to succeed.  An ideal background would be a key account manager from within a builders merchant.

THE PACKAGE: Salary depends on experience, other benefits include 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, annual PRP Bonus, option to buy or sell holidays and life assurance among others. 

The normal working week will be Monday to Friday.

Trainee Sales Person, Rotherham

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a TRAINEE SALES PERSON to join with our new Rotherham Branch in May/June 2019.

THE ROLE:   A Trainee Sales Person would be expected to learn all aspects of working within the sales office/trade counter including serving customers face to face on the trade counter as well as dealing with enquiries/orders over the telephone/email.  They would also be required to develop their knowledge of the products sold as well as learning about building relationships with customers and suppliers.

DUTIES:  The successful candidate will assist the more experienced sales people within the team, helping service customers both at the Trade Counter & via the telephone/email and also be part of the team maintaining stock & general standards of the shop area.

CANDIDATE: We are looking for a smart, presentable individual who is enthusiastic to learn and develop their knowledge and skills.  We have a proven track record of developing Trainees into more Senior Roles so this is an excellent opportunity for someone who shows aptitude and commitment to the role. 

The starting salary will be National Minimum Wage, an annual PRP bonus, 27 days holiday + bank holidays, the option to buy or sell holidays and Monday to Friday working week.

Warehouse Operative, Ossett

Job Description

THE ROLE:   The Warehouse Operative will be expected to pick orders for company vehicles as well as load and unload company, customer and supplier vehicles. 

CANDIDATE: Due to the fast paced environment the successful candidate needs to be willing to work well under pressure.  They also need to be reliable and well-presented with good organisational skills and be comfortable assisting customers.  The successful candidate would ideally have experience of working in a builders merchants but having good product knowledge on a range of building materials and experience of working in a warehouse/yard environment would be an advantage.  However having the right attitude, being willing to help and go that extra mile is equally important.

THE PACKAGE: We offer a salary of £19,671 and benefits which include 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, annual PRP Bonus, option to buy or sell holidays and life assurance among others.  The normal working week will be Monday to Friday.

Assistant Buyer, Gateshead HQ

Job Description

Due to continued growth we are looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to join the team at our Head Office in Gateshead.

THE ROLE: As an Assistant Buyer you would identify and replenish low levels of stock by selecting  the company’s preferred source of supply. Participate in negotiations with suppliers and ensure all purchase orders are priced accurately. You would also liaise with purchase ledger,  logistics, sales and suppliers regarding any discrepancies or damages as well as maintaining and monitoring inventory levels of all stock.

CANDIDATE: We are seeking someone with experience in this area who is reliable and well- presented and is able to build relationships easily with common sense and an ability to solve problems. Preferably with good knowledge of a wide range of building materials but particularly  with roofing products, an ideal background would be someone with buying experience within the roofing or construction industry.

Job Description

Due to continued growth we are looking to recruit a Trainee Assistant Buyer to join the team at our Head Office in Gateshead.

THE ROLE: As a Trainee Buyer you would assist the purchasing team and complete administration duties. You will also learn all aspects of working within a busy purchasing department such as how  to identify and replenish low levels of stock and how to liaise with suppliers and other internal departments regarding discrepancies and queries.

CANDIDATE: We are looking for a smart, presentable individual who is enthusiastic to learn and develop their knowledge and skills. You must have excellent communication skills, good knowledge of Microsoft word and excel and the ability to be organised. Relief LGV Driver, Stockton

Job Description

THE ROLE: You will be required to provide holiday and sickness cover for the Drivers at our Stockton branch.  When driving you will ensure that materials are delivered accurately to customer locations as well as doing daily vehicle safety checks. 

When driving is not required you would be working in the Stockton Warehouse.

This is a permanent full time role where you will be driving for a minimum of 28 weeks in a year.  Taking into account holidays this will leave a maximum of 19 weeks where you would be required to work in the Warehouse.

CANDIDATE: We are seeking a reliable and well-presented person who has good knowledge of the area as well as good product knowledge on a range of building materials. An ideal background would be someone with builders merchant experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must have a LGV Category C Licence (previously known as Class 2), digital tachograph and Driver CPC and current HIAB licence.

We offer a salary of £22,968 per annum and benefits which include 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, annual PRP Bonus, option to buy or sell holidays and life assurance among others.  The normal working week will be Monday to Friday.
