Meet Simon

My role is an Insulation and Drylining specialist within the contracts team at Gateshead, with the likes of acoustic's, fire protection, metal systems and ceilings. I will provide a support role to others across the sales team and our customers; including main contract builders, sub contractors and end users.

I have only recently joined James Burrell at the beginning of March, however throughout 30 years within the construction industry, I have had the pleasure of working with James Burell and watching the business evolve, expand and more forwards.

My day will vary depending on the business needs. This could mean various things such as starting on site visiting cusomers, liasing with suppliers or working from any one of our 11 branches. I'll be supporting the Sales Teams in a variety of ways, with enquiries, pricing and technical queries. This will include our suppliers within my scope, growing relationships and strengthening existing bonds.

I started working for Sheffield Insulation (SIG) as a Driver and then progressed into a Sales role and then finally into a Management position. It was then that I moved on to become a Branch Manager for CFF. After 9 years I joined Encon Insulation as a Business Development Manager and after another 8 years moved to Markovitz as a Branch Manager.

I've been very lucky and proud to work with professional, motivated like-minded people and this will continue with James Burrell.

You know immediately when you walk into a business how it feels and James Burrell is no exception. The staff are all friendly and helpful and there is just a good feeling about the place. Many of the staff have been employed in long term roles, some for 25 years plus and this sums James Burrell up for me and tells a lot about how the business is driven.

I enjoy spending time with my family and walking the dogs. I also enjoy music, motorcycles and going out to restaurants.
