Our Ossett branch were delighted to be able to help Sherine and her family after reading their story in the Wakefield Express.
Sherine Hampshire from Wakefield has secondary breast cancer and is currently going through draining chemotherapy treatment. Her families dream was to turn her garden into a haven that she could enjoy. Due to the fact Sherine has been shielding throughout the coronavirus pandemic, transforming their garden into somewhere she could escpae safely to the outdoors was their dream.
Sherine has been a driving force behind fundraising campaigns, raising over £10,000 for cancer patients whilst undergoing treatment herfself. Sherine's family wanted to surprise her with the new garden in time for her to enjoy her 40th birthday, however the project they had scheduled didn't quite go to plan and that is when they asked the local community for help.
We were delighted to be able to help out with materials and we wish the entire family and the very kind volunteers within the community the best of luck with the rest of the project.
